  • The Excel V+ is a laser system used to treat different vascular skin conditions. Skin conditions like rosacea can cause redness and flushing due to abnormal blood vessels in the skin. The Excel V works by using a powerful green laser that is absorbed by these abnormal blood vessels. The laser heats the vessels, causing them to be eliminated. After treatment, the patient's skin returns to its natural tone and color.

  • Excel V+ is a laser system that has been proven to be effective in treating various conditions such as rosacea, telangiectasias, leg veins, port wine stains, and cherry angiomas. It can treat both mild and severe forms of these conditions. Excel V may also have a cosmetic benefit for patients who have skin lesions or scars from previous injuries or surgeries.

  • Excel V+ has the advantage of being highly adjustable, allowing physicians to tailor the treatment to the specific skin condition of each patient. The system offers different wavelength modes, which means it can deliver short pulses for surface blemishes like small lesions and skin discoloration, as well as longer pulses for deeper vascular conditions like leg veins and nodular port wine stains. It also provides a range of laser spot sizes, enabling precise targeting of small treatment areas and faster treatment of larger areas. This high level of customisation is what makes Excel V+ so effective at treating a wide range of conditions in just one session, eliminating the need for multiple systems or procedures. 

  • There is no downtime after the Excel V+ procedure. After treatment, you should be able to resume your normal activities right away. You might experience some mild swelling and redness for a day or two, but these side effects are usually minimal. Occasional scabbing can also occur.

  • All skin types identified in the Fitzpatrick skin type classification can be treated by the Excel V+. 

    The 532 nm wavelength is ideal for treating skin types I - IV and the 1064 nm mode can be used on all skin types from I - VI.

  • The number of treatments needed depends on the parameters of the size,  thickness and colour of the vascular lesion. Superficial vascular lesions such as telangiectasia and diffused redness are easiest to treat, some clients might see significant improvements after just one treatment.

  • The excel V+ treatment takes about 10 or 15 minutes and a series of sessions may be needed for optimal results.

    The treatment feels like a quick rubber band snap sensation, but a built in cooling mechanism helps minimise any discomfort.

    You can see results from the treatment quickly, with visible improvements noticeable in two to six weeks. We will generally recommend a course of several treatments, and final results are visible within a few months.
